This year the prestigious annual Istituto Marangoni fashion show shone the spotlight on the work of another 10 extremely talented young designers.
The event gave the students the chance to showcase their collections to an international audience of journalists and fashion industry professionals. Among the participants were two former Foundation Year students from the International Study Centre (ISC) – Ece Sahin and Xiaoni Ying.
We are very proud to announce that Ece Sahin won Designer of the Year!
Ece created her collection, ‘Then I Recognised Her’, based on prosopagnosia. People who have this cognitive condition are unable to recognise faces, including their own.
The detail in Ece’s intelligent designs were carefully placed to help with the recognition process for those affected by prosopagnosia. To ensure her garments were unique, she used a range of materials and techniques, from 3D printing to laser cutting.
Former ISC student, Xiaoni Ying also showcased her collection within the world-famous fashion school’s top 10 for 2017.
